Welcoming a New Beginning: Master’s Students Gain Insights from Three Distinguished Speakers

Yogyakarta, September 13, 2025 – To mark the opening of the new academic semester, STP AMPTA Yogyakarta held its first public lecture, attended by all Master of Applied Science students. The event took place at the Tamansari Hall of STP AMPTA Yogyakarta from 09.00 to 12.00 WIB, and was also accessible online via Zoom for participants joining virtually. The program began with a welcoming speech delivered by the Chairman of STP AMPTA, Drs. Prihatno, M.M.

The session continued with presentations from three guest speakers, each bringing a diverse background. The first speaker was Prof. Setyabudi Indartono, M.M., Ph.D., Head of the Higher Education Service Institute Region V (LLDIKTI Wilayah V). The second was Prof. Dr. Drs. Pratomo Widodo, M.Pd., Lecturer at the Department of German Language Education, Yogyakarta State University. The final speaker was Dr. Kiran Shinde, Adjunct Associate Professor at La Trobe University, Australia. The lecture was moderated by one of STP AMPTA’s lecturers, Dr. Ayu Helena Cornelia, B.A., M.Si.

The event was highly interactive, featuring a question-and-answer session that drew enthusiastic participation from both on-site and online students. The discussion not only explored academic topics but also touched on research opportunities, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and preparedness to face global challenges in the digital era. This inaugural public lecture is expected to serve as a motivating starting point for postgraduate students in pursuing their studies while strengthening academic networks between students, lecturers, and practitioners.
